How does a Cornwall wedding planner keep busy during a global pandemic? - Everything you need to know about Cornwall wedding planner Caroline Griffiths during lockdown.
Ten weeks have now passed since the COVID 19 hit our world. Plans have been put on hold, daily routines compromised and not to forget the sheer worry and stress of what’s been happening. It’s been a really challenging time for us all, hasn’t it!
Whatever you have been up to during these weeks of reflection, I hope you are safe and are managing to overcome these challenging times and begin to get into new routines of our now new normal world.
I remember saying what a long journey 12 weeks would be however these past 10 weeks have gone surprisingly quick! Of course, as we all know there have been many couples sadly having to postpone weddings and I have been busy rescheduling wedding dates to next and helping with insurance claims for some. For these couples, It’s been such a heartbreaking situation but it’s been amazing to see so many couples taking it in their stride with home celebrations, zoom family gatherings and generally in a high spirit that their special day will happen soon.
For many of my colleagues and friends in the wedding industry, these weeks have also been tough not be able to do what we love with the prospect of financial strain over the coming months with the uncertainty of what will be. I have been proud to be apart of the amazingly talented and passionate wedding suppliers Cornwall has and see so much collaboration and support towards each other and all of our couples.
But what’s been happening with me? Well, once the realisation that lockdown was going to be for many weeks I have used this time productively. My husband and I have been finishing our house renovation and finally, I have a floor and a kitchen! Yay! Apart from the standard DIY and gardening, I have had the amazing opportunity to watch my 16-month-old son Reggie develop and grow. Something I often took for granted during a busy working schedule and tag-teaming with my parents and husband. Reggie and I have had some fun! It’s not been easy working alongside a baby but let’s face it when have we ever been this time rich?
So fun and family time aside I have been working very hard behind the scenes on both of my businesses. I’ve used this time to really think about what it is I want, business direction whilst setting goals for the future. You will see I have had a refreshing rebrand which I love! Two new websites and SEO training, ALOT of blogging which is my happy place and some marketing structure to keep me busy for the next few months.
My bridal Boutique Bridal Gossip is relocating to Wadebridge which I am super excited about and I will now have a gorgeous setting to meet with new and existing clients and close enough for a cheeky glass of vino on a Saturday after work!
I have also finally focussed where Caroline Griffiths Wedding Planner wants to go and that is very exciting indeed! As of now, I will be focussing on luxury marquee and dry hire wedding venues and weddings in Cornwall. These styles of weddings are where my heart is and being a natural creative the thought of no restrictions is just bliss!
However, that’s not all I’ve been up to! Earlier this year I had a meeting with one of the loveliest ladies ever! We sat and had a good old chat ( about weddings obviously) and started plotting! So just to keep me even busier next year I am really excited to announce that I will be joining Lisa from Celebrant in Cornwall for 2021! I will be helping Lisa deliver wonderful ceremonies to couples when Lisa is unable to be there. Like me, Lisa isn’t a fan of restrictions so after officiating over 100 ceremonies as a Ceremony Officer with the Registration Services she has been growing her fabulous business and offers couples something really special and unique. After training with Fellowship of Professional Celebrants Lisa now specialise in delivering beautifully bespoke ceremonies for weddings and renewal of vows - with maximum flexibility! With a particular interest in eco, green and ethical ceremonies, and a soft spot for intimate and informal weddings; if you are planning an elopement or smaller celebration, especially in an outdoor setting, Lisa would be a perfect pairing.
Lisa and I had an instant connection. We both have huge passion for weddings and what they stand for. We are both keen writers with a creative imagination that may get us into trouble one of these days! Lisa says “I am so delighted to welcome Caroline into my business - she is absolutely the perfect person to join me on this exciting journey and I know my clients will love her!”
So after an uncertain 10 weeks in lockdown, it’s been different but certainly productive! I can not wait to get back to it and do what I love!
