Wedding Planner in Cornwall - 5 Top Tips on where to start with your wedding planning.

If you are recently engaged then congratulations! I can imagine you are super excited! I can also imagine you may be a little overwhelmed with the thought of planning this wedding and maybe have no idea where to start. Read on for my 5 top tips on where to start with your wedding planning in Cornwall.

  1. Set The Date!

You won’t officially “set a date” until you book your venue. But, I recommend choosing a few potential wedding dates before you start looking at venues. First, think about the season in which you’d like to get married—and if a Saturday night wedding is a must (convenient, but potentially more expensive and competitive) or if you’re open to a wedding on a different (perhaps less in-demand) day. Then, take a look at the calendar, taking into account work schedules, holidays, family conflicts, etc., and narrow things down to a few choice dates. Having some potential wedding dates in mind will be very helpful during the venue selection process.

2. Decide on numbers

Whilst you may not know exactly who will come therefore final numbers, it’s a good idea to have a list to hand! The number of guests will determine your venue and the costs involved along the way. Make a day and evening guest list so you have a rough idea of the numbers you need to consider.

3. Set a Budget

When it comes to figuring out how to plan a wedding in Cornwall—you’ll need to decide how much you can or want to spend on your wedding. It might not be the most fun part of the process, but it’s a task that really needs to be completed first. So sit down with your parents or other potential contributors to come up with a total budget, and then divide it up by vendor or service accordingly

4. The formalities

Considering the type of wedding ceremony you would like is very important. Don’t forget to do your research and find out if you can get married in your chosen location. Just remember that if you are having a celebrant-led wedding you will need to be legally married first!

5. Enjoy it!

This may all seem super overwhelming but with all the stress of planning, you need to remember to enjoy this process! I promise you it will all be worth it.
